Ways To Get Your Teen More Interested In Christianity

If you are the parent of a teenager, you know that communicating with them effectively can sometimes be difficult. And if the topic is faith and Christianity, many teens today simply aren't interested. Keep reading to learn about some of the ways that you can get your teen more interested in Christianity and faith. Then, you can give these methods a try as soon as possible to try to bring your teenager into the fold once again.

Get Them Personal Christian Testimony Books

Teens are often focused largely on the individual rather than larger societal concepts. Talking to them about Christianity on the large scale may not be the most effective method to try to pique their interest. Instead, you may want to opt for more personal, individual stories.

A great way to do that is to get your teen a few personal Christian testimony books. These books are the stories of single individuals and how they found Christ and Christianity when they needed it most.

Try to find a personal Christian testimony book that your teen can relate to. If your teen is into Wicca and witchcraft for example, there are books written by people who were former witchcraft practitioners who converted to the faith.

If your child has a mental health issue, there are testimonies about how a close relationship with Jesus Christ helped them manage their mental illness. The more closely you can cater the personal Christian testimony book to your child's unique needs and interests, the better.

Connect Them with a Mentor

Another great way to get your teen more interested in Christianity is to take some of the pressure off of yourself. Many teens won't listen to their parents in matters of personal development and the like because this is the phase when they are trying to differentiate themselves from their parents.

However, they may listen to another adult. This is why a mentor can be so great. Having your child work with a mentor on matters of life and faith can benefit their development in the faith. The mentor can help guide and challenge them to deal with issues of faith and can even personally witness to them about their own faith journey.

The mentor can even read the personal Christian testimony books with your child and do a book study of sorts with them to help further guide them in their spiritual journey.

Now that you know a few ways to get your teen more interested in Christianity, you can start looking for books and a mentor for your teen right away.
